Didcot`s first public wood was created by a Labour Town Council. We will continue planting trees to make Didcot better. Tories do not respect public woods nationally and tried to chop them.

Recreation

Didcot does not have enough sports pitches and nor enough pleasant parks and allotments for residents to enjoy. We promise to push for more public green spaces while Tory Councillors continue to fail the town.

Didcot - the Town

Tories and Lib Dem Councillors failed to take forward the promised boundary review so thousands of new homes at Great Western Park will now not be part of Didcot. This is sheer incompetence. Failed again.

Orchard Centre - the Next Steps

Labour Councillors pushed and slogged for the Orchard Centre, the Cinema and Cornerstone after decades of Tory delays. We promise to continue the big push for the next part of the scheme. We have done it before and we can do it again.

Transport Issues

Tories have messed up transport. They slashed funding for a much needed relief road to the Harwell sites. They have stalled. Long delays to the Station forecourt, daft and dangerous ideas for Cow Lane Bridge and ended Travel Tokens. No thinking there then.

Civic Hall Redevelopment

Slow, slow, slow. Ignored the problem for 2 years then failed to get a grip on the project. Meanwhile no-one can use the building, total incompetence. This is a real asset to the town and we promise to treat it as such. After all it is a function and meeting place for everyone.

Cuts in Town Services

This is what the Conservatives have done for you:

• made cuts to the One Stop Shop
• slashed Citizens` Advice Bureau funding and evicted them when people need them more
• slashed Willowbrook Leisure Centre funding, closing it in the daytime
• forced the public out of the Civic Hall car park

Did they ask you? Is this what they promised you? No. Unfair, failing and out of touch - that`s the Conservatives.
